The World's Simplest Sunset
I painted this today. It's the mini lesson I'd like to use for teaching gradient washes in the landscape class I'm developing. My hope with these mini projects is to give students some exercises with more immediate gratification and skills development in the hopes that they will find it encouraging even when they may struggle with their larger class project. To that end, it was a nice reminder for myself today that I can create something pretty. I'm also attempting a gouache landscape study that looks pretty rough right now. As they say though, if your practice is going perfectly, you're not trying hard enough things. It's a fun balancing act.

So pretty!
